This is really an extraordinary dress that is constructed from an absolutely beautiful and unusual fabric. It is made of a hand screened silk crepe that is covered in a vibrant floral print. Bands of fringe made of the same silk combined with a gold metallic thread are set in rows fever 1 2 inch from top to bottom. You can see the rows from the back and it is astonishing to think of how this must have been constructed. It is very Chanel in feel and has the same high level of technique used. It is cut to fit the body like a glove top to bottom. There are two hidden seams that run up the front of the dress and allow for the inset pleats that start just under each hip. These seams are matched so well that you literally have to look for them at the back to see that they are there! I have it styled with the collar opening at the front but you could wear it either way t the front. It is a remarkable, rare dress and one of the best I have ever seen. Excellent condition Shoulders: 14" across Bust: 17" flat across the back from side seam to side seam Waist: 14" flat across the back from side seam to side seam Hips: 17" flat across the back from side seam to side seam Total length: 53" from mid neck at the back to bottom hem Unlined, the dress closes with a series of snaps and hook & eye at the side. The fabric is strong and wearable. Modern Sizing equivalent: XS SML (2 6) Item# 2 E71 This garment has been professionally cleaned, pressed and is odor free.
